Property Management – VP Operations (CLOSED)

Our Toronto real estate client is looking for a VP Operations to run its property management division and oversee the operations of its brokerage house and group of companies. The ideal candidate is a strong and visionary leader with an established track record in both multi-residential property management and business leadership in Ontario.

Reporting to the President, the VP Operations will be responsible for the development of the overall operations in a dynamic and demanding work environment. The successful candidate is passionate about property management and has the ability to communicate effectively and lead a team through a transitional period. He/she has the ability to integrate a diverse team and foster a positive work culture in order to drive growth and performance.

Role & Responsibilities:
Brokerage and General Business Leadership

• Oversee and develop strategic objectives, targets, and planning strategies

• Develop annual business plans and budgets for the property management and brokerage divisions. Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary

• Ensure the financial stability of each division and the overall business; furnish timely operational/financial reports. Ultimately responsible for financial performance

• Strategically cultivate models of growth & innovation to promote company initiatives

• Develop & maintain strong working relationships, promote positive relations internally and externally

• Oversee: Accounting, HR, IT(systems & process), Legal, Strategic Planning, Company policies & procedures, Culture and General office management

Property Management
• GM of Property Management division; lead team of Property Managers, Shared Services support & Superintendents in the effective and profitable management of a multi-residential property portfolio

• Knowledge and experience of all areas of property operations both financial and physical

• Ability to develop apartment building business plans and budgets

• Skilled in negotiations with suppliers and tradespeople

• Understanding of apartment buildings and their components in Ontario

• Experience in property management asset and financial management

• Experience in renovations, construction, and trades management

• Experience dealing with rental properties, tenants and landlord/tenant board relations in Ontario

• Must have 15 years progressive experience in multi-residential property management; providing leadership, direction and support to a property management team

• MBA, CMA or other comparable and/or relevant designation

• Able to multi-task and handle multiple priorities, highly organized, knowledge of budgeting, financial statements, marketing

• Excellent business acumen with sound judgement and strong problem-solving skills;

• Extremely detail-oriented with a success-driven attitude

• Results oriented

• Commensurate with experience
