Debt Recovery Administrative Assistant/Law Clerk [CLOSED]

Our client, a downtown Toronto boutique law firm, is seeking a Debt Recovery Administrative Assistant/Law Clerk to join their growing team responsible for collecting debts and liabilities owing to their clients.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Opening and administering files from beginning to end
  • Processing demand letters
  • Issuing and serving statements of claim
  • Preparing and filing default judgment and judgment enforcement
  • Negotiating and processing settlements and payment arrangements
  • Periodic reporting to clients
  • Manage a large volume of files


  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a law firm infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Experience with PC Law and Amicus Attorney a definite asset
  • Professionalism, ability to work independently, multi-task and juggle competing priorities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with diplomacy and discretion
  • Professional phone manner
  • Exceptional problem solving, analytical and investigative skills
  • Detail-oriented, demonstrating a high level of accuracy at all time
  • Must possess strong English language written, listening and verbal communication skills


  • Salary: 30K – 55k plus benefits
  • Vacation: 2-3 weeks (depending on experience
